Charlie Jo's Big 9

Charlie Jo had the opportunity to go whitetail deer hunting in Kentucky with her dad this fall.  I, as her mother, was a little reluctant for her to miss a week of school, but her grades were so good that I decided to let her go.  I know there is nothing quite like that quality father-daughter time and we won't ever be able to get these years back so we are taking advantage of the time while our kids still like us.  LOL.  She killed six does and one really nice buck.  She used a 6.5x47 Lapulla that our friend Joe Walls built for her.  It sits it on a tripod, but the rest she does all by herself.  She is a perfectionist and man can that girl shoot.  She killed two does with one shot and she shot her buck at 208 yards!  People constantly ask us what is she going to look forward to in a few years if she is already killing big bucks at six years old?!  Her daddy has taught her to respect the animals and the sport of hunting and she knows very well that it is a privilege to be able to have the experiences and hunts like she has. My prayer is that she continues to nurture her talent and keep a strong relationship with her family and God.
